"Monetise your community"

I got an invitation to join a community on a platform that I haven't heard of before. I got curious and thought I'd check out the software before joining, and the first thing I saw on the landing page was, front and centre, was "Start", "Engage", "Monetize", "Scale" — connected with a curve to presumably indicate exponential growth.

Something about "monetising your community" doesn't sit right with me. It sounds super transactional, and the emphasis is on the people who start communities than the communities themselves.

What if it were "connect, nurture, sustain, and grow" instead?
